The real signal is not that a researcher left, but that safety can now be used as both a moral position and a market liability, which means the companies most eager to look responsible are also the most exposed when their own insiders stop believing the story. In that sense, the resignation is less a warning about AI getting uncontrollable than about the fragility of the institutions claiming they can control it.
