Access starts with a select group of creators and Community Champions. Meta plans to expand eligibility over time.
How to Start or Join a Live Chat
- Eligible hosts tap the three-dot menu in their Community, select Schedule a Live Chat, set name, times, and invite participants.
- Share the chat via Threads feed or Instagram Story.
- Join from the top of a Community feed, a shared post, or a host's profile with a red live ring.
- Access ongoing chats through the Messages tab.
Chats end after a set time but stay publicly discoverable for later viewing.
Safety and Moderation Features
Threads prioritizes safe interactions. The platform automatically detects and removes policy-violating messages. Hosts control moderation in real time, demoting users to spectator mode or removing them. Anyone can report issues.
